Nalgadh Municipality held the first municipality-level expanded Water Safety Plan (WSP+++) workshop, convened under the SuSVA project — the municipality's programme for durable water supply, sanitation and hygiene. Municipal branch representatives, water supply scheme heads, rural maintenance workers (VMWs) and other stakeholders took part, working through risk identification and reduction from source to the consumer's tap, water quality assurance, and long-term operation and management of the schemes.
Er. Nirajan Shrestha Nirajan Shrestha facilitated the workshop in his role as Governance Specialist for the SuSVA project. He presented on water quality, the need for safe drinking water, and the technical and behavioural measures required to maintain quality — stressing that risks along the supply chain must be identified and reduced in time so that schemes deliver safe, good-quality water that lasts.
